At Engine Yard, we focus on Rails application deployment and operations support, so you can focus on developing your app and your business.

Many customers start in the development phase and grow to hundreds of thousands of users, without hassles along the way.
Start with 1 slice on our cluster, then grow to 20 slices, then to dedicated clusters in our data center or yours - all without changing your code. Literally develop on your laptop, then deploy with ease.
And we're always here for you, 24/7, by phone, email, and web:

Call for papers

Railstoitaly 2007 CFP is now officially open and accepting proposals. We already have some excellent proposals submitted through the pre-registration process, but there is still room for you.

If you have a special expertise in any aspect of computing that involves Ruby on Rails that you wish to speak on, please send your proposal by following the steps below.

Languages

On 26th only english is acceptable, on the 27th you can speak italian or english.

Presentation Formats

We’ve tried to include a wide range of formats for presentations. If you think we’ve missed something obvious, please let us know!

Standard presentation (30 minutes)

25 minutes for talking and 5 minutes for questions. This is enough time to cover a few issues well and allows us to provide a good selection of talks throughout the day. Standard presentations can be in english or italian.

Extended talks (60 minutes)

Extended talks are ideal for experienced speakers who want to cover a large topic. 50 minutes for talking and 10 minutes for questions. Extended talks can only be in english.

Gems (5 minutes)

Besides regular proposed talks, we are seeking several 5 minute ‘Gems’ that we could schedule as part of the second day session. These are brief talks that focus on a single example, idea, project or technique. Gems are not expected to cover all aspects of the subject. They’re an excellent forum for first-time speakers. Gems can be in english or italian.

Demos

The demo session is tentatively scheduled for the second day, there will be no “demo facilities”, you’ll have to use your own notebook but demo presenters will have one minute to describe their demo during a “demo teaser” preview before the demo session.
